Earth's Natural Satelite

As the moon revolves round the earth, some part of it is exposed to sunlight while some part of it might be shadowed out. However, this does not mean that an entire surface of the moon cannot be exposed to sun light at noon day. Remember, the moon does not have luminescent property and does not self-illuminates naturally. Rather, it stores the light energy from the sun and glows back when the light from the Sun cannot overwhelm its and often when the sun is gone [e.g. at night]. At noon day, while the sun is up and at its zenith, a part of the moon’s surface or its entire surface receives light from the sun. If the entire receptive surface of the moon is exposed to the light energy from the sun, the entire surface glows back later when light from the sun is not overwhelming and at night. Ergo we see a full moon glowing back the light energy received from the Sun at. . . . . . . . . . continue reading

The Blue Sky

Why is the sky Blue?

Visible white light from the Sun travels in waves with some of the waves travelling as short or shorter choppy waves unlike others that travels as long lazy waves. continue reading

Plant Respiration and Photosynthesis

Plant and Oxygen

Plant makes their food by a process "photosynthesis", by harnessing carbon-dioxide in the atmosphere with water and light energy from the sun. Does this mean that plants takes in carbon-dioxide and gives out oxygen during respiration?

Rainbow and its Spectrum of Colours

How is it produced?

Produced by the prismatic refraction of light within droplets of rain in the atmosphere, rainbow is an arch in the sky with spectrum of colours arrayed in patterns. White light from the sun as insolation, contains a spectrum of seven [7] colours each with different wave-lengths.

Earth worms and sodium Chloride [NaCl]

Salt particularly sodium chloride [NACL] is an essential drying agent. Lumbricus terrestris [Earthworm] breathes or respirates through its moist and soggy skin whose moisture aids gaseous exchange [external respiration]. The skin moisture of Earthworms are dried up or removed by salt, Ergo ....continue reading
